Course Description
The Web has come into its own as a medium for the display and presentation of illustration, both in the context of personal portfolios and as a bona fide end-product for commercial clients. This course will introduce students to the issues and concepts behind presenting their work effectively on the World Wide Web. Through a series of incremental assignments, students will explore the techniques and technologies that are crucial to successful and efficient use of the Web. The course will culminate in the creation of a live and functional portfolio website by all students. Basic computer skills required.
Materials
In addition to a computer, we will be using a few applications:
Adobe Photoshop CS
Macromedia Dreamweaver MX
Macromedia Flash MX2004

Policies
Students are required to complete all assignments on time. Failure to do so will result in lowering of one entire grade per missed assignment. Attendance is required; there will also be in-class assignments.
50% of the grade is in-class assignments and projects.
50% of the grade is the final web design project, failure to complete this project is an automatic failure.
Appropriated code can only be used with the explicit permission of an instructor.
Uploading is only allowed to the artist's personal folder or their own server.
Please contact instructors if there is any inability make it to class or complete an assignment.
